Delhi to go full EV for delivery and bike taxi services

Delhi government is set it introduce new regulations for delivery and bike taxi services making electric vehicles mandatory.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal just gave the green light to this awesome plan in Delhi, and it's a step toward fighting pollution. He sent the big plan to the L-G for the final thumbs-up, and soon it's going to be official!

Delhi is going to be the first place in India and one of the very few in the world where companies that give you rides (like bike taxis) and deliver your online shopping stuff have to use electric vehicles. Yup, you heard it right, zero-emission electric vehicles!

Now, here's the cool part for all the bike taxi users – they're making a comeback, and they're going to be electric! Say hello to cheaper and eco-friendly rides around the city.

But that's not all! The government has set a deadline for all kinds of vehicles – from those that give you a ride to ones that bring your online orders – to switch to electric by 2030. That's like a whole electric vehicle party on the roads!

But what about the prices?

Don't worry, the government is keeping an eye on that. They're making sure that the prices for these rides are fair and square. No crazy price hikes!

Oh, and here's a fun twist – the big giants who run the delivery and ride services can't just hop on the bus business. They're limited to cool rides like bikes, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers.

Once this plan gets the official stamp, everyone who gives you a ride or delivers your stuff has to get a special license. It's like a golden ticket but for electric vehicles. And guess what? If your ride is less than two years old, you get a sweet 50% discount!

But, hold on – breaking the rules comes with a cost. If someone doesn't follow the electric vehicle party rules, they might have to pay up to ₹100,000 in fines! Yep, they're serious about this green move.

Oh, and here's a bonus – they're rolling out a "Premium bus" plan. Imagine luxury buses at your fingertips through an app. Booking tickets, paying – everything happens online. Delhi is turning into a tech-savvy, eco-friendly paradise!

Soon the policy will get a final thumbs-up

Until then...
